Ndushabandi Derrick, founder of COX ART GALLERY, conceived the idea for the gallery in 2019, inspired by his passion for art and a desire to address gender inequality in the arts. Officially established in 2025, the gallery reflects Derrick’s decade-long experience as a self-taught art enthusiast with a keen eye for exceptional work. His mission is to create an inclusive space where artists of all genders can thrive, share their stories, and elevate African modern and contemporary art. With participation in group and solo exhibitions, Derrick is dedicated to nurturing talent and shaping a successful, forward-thinking gallery
